To get another one or not........

I have been struggling over this for some time now, do I take the plunge & get another Ridgeback or not? I must admit I'm very tempted - but the old thing comes back - do I really want to chance going through that again? Split in two minds, some pups have come up for sale (albeit 300 odd Km's away) & the urge is strong. Then you think back to 'The Boy' & is there a place for something new? I dunno! I do have another week or so to decide. Most probably end up with a headache! ;)

  1. Llew; Just do it, mate! You wouldn't know this but, I lost Orange Dog. Very suddenly. And, through a quirk of fate, I got Pest virtually before my feet touched the ground.

I should be writing about all this on my own Blog. I just don't know if I could ever write up losing The Orange Dog though.

Anyway, yes, I now have Pest to worship and to adore me back. She's entirely different to Orange Dog. But, she's gorgeous.

You've carried your weight long enough now, mate. Get a pup and f**k the future!

    1. Hey Ditch! Long time no hear! Yeah, I read about Orange Dog & left a message for you there some time back. Bloody shit luck that. I was away in Europe in '88 when my Bouvier went & I felt really bad 'cos I wasn't there for him.
Well, the mind is made up, mate, for better or for worse! We leave on Monday to go pick the young'un up. 350+Km to get him so a 700+ round trip. I'll post a pic when I get back. Stay well mate & I'll check your blog for a pic of pest! ;)

  2. It'll be for better, mate. Believe me. No Dog can replace another one. We can't even ask that. But, they can give us a focus for the love we have and, of course, give us their unconditional love in return. Once we've experienced that, it's unhealthy to try to get along without it.

That was Rats, by the way. My little terrier. She upped and died all of a sudden. Orange Dog did too. But, I never yet mentioned it on the Blog.

I'll have to find a way of breaking through that barrier. Then I can tell (and show) everyone about Pest :D

Brilliant to see you're getting back in the saddle too.

    Enjoy, mate!
